Field work in Ridgefield, Australia

Me simulating rain in dry season

For the first time, I went to the large-scale restoration experiment in Ridgefield located in a Mediterranean climate. The experiment is part of the Future Farm project led by the University of Western Australia. While getting familiar with this particular ecosystem and the experimental design, I recorded some soil moisture dynamics in four different soil layers allowing to calibrate and validate the simulation model that I devleop in Berlin. Also, I helped local researchers with their yearly measurements within the experiment (i.e. herbaceous vegetation surveys).
